A. —Philosophie (considérée en tant que matière d'enseignement). Avoir la moyenne, de bonnes notes en philo; devoirs de philo; prof. de philo. J'ai acheté le programme de la licence. Pour la philo on ne demande que le bacho lettres-philosophie (RIVIÈRE, Corresp. [avec Alain-Fournier], 1905, p.70). Au fond, quand on expose des théories en classe de philo, on accepte d'affaiblir une pensée pour la faire comprendre, et ce n'est pas si mauvais (SARTRE, Existent., 1946, p.101).
B. —P. méton. Classe où cette matière est enseignée. Faire sa philo. La sorte de sottise qu'a un potache de seize ans, qui entre en philo, et découvre l'âme et la pensée humaines à travers les manuels de M. Paulin Malapert (MONTHERL., Célibataires, 1934, p.818). V. aile ex. 36.
